Seed Library

Connetquot Public Library is delighted to introduce our Seed Library service—a unique initiative designed to foster community engagement, promote sustainable practices, and empower individuals to cultivate their own green spaces. Our Seed Library is a free resource available to all library members, providing access to a diverse collection of vegetable and herb seeds.

What is a Seed Library?

Our Seed Library is a collection of vegetable and herb seeds that you can “borrow” for planting at home. All of the seeds are organic and are purchased or donated through Seed Savers.

How Do I Borrow Seeds?

Just submit a request form and your seed packets will be available for pickup at the front desk. It's that simple! (1 request per household per season for up to 3 seed packets).

Do I Have to Return Seeds?

No, but we encourage you to share seeds from plants you have grown with your family, friends and neighbors. Also, we would love to see photos of your garden or hear stories about your success!

Notice: Thank you for your overwhelming support! All seed packets are out of stock for the 2024 season. We appreciate your participation and are already making plans to expand our offerings for the 2025 season.

Little Free Libraries

Connetquot Public Library is proud to sponsor several Little Free Libraries throughout the community, located at Byron Lake, Bohemia Recreation Center and at Lake Ronkonkoma off Rosevale Avenue. These small public cabinets are designed to foster a neighborhood book exchange with the aim to inspire a love of reading and spark creativity.
