  • American Community Survey
    Ongoing survey conducted by the U.S. Bureau of the Census to provide estimates of the demographic, housing, social and economic conditions of the American population.
  • American Factfinder
    Uses census data from the national level down to the census block level to create detailed reports and tables. Information on the decennial population census as well as economic surveys and estimates is available. Searchable by keyword or place name. From the U.S. Bureau of the Census.
  • International Data Base
    A computerized database maintained by the U.S. Bureau of the Census of demographic and socio-economic statistics from every country in the world. One can search the data back to 1950 and for projections to 2050. Searching for data from multiple countries at the same time is possible.
  • Long Island Census Data
    Census data from the 2000 federal census for the United States, New York state, Nassau and Suffolk Counties and the individual townships.
  • Long Island Index Maps
    An interactive map that displays land use patterns, population and housing statistics from the federal census, district-by-district educational data, special districts and more. Also includes satellite photography of land parcels. Information comes from federal, state and local governments.
  • New York State Data Center
    A compilation of 2010 federal census statistics pertaining to New York state. Also includes some 1990 and 2000 federal census data.
  • Publications of the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention
    Two publications of the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention concerning population and demographics are the National Vital Statistics Report, a monthly publication that lists the numbers of births, marriages, divorces and deaths in the United States, and Life Tables, which lists life expectancy statistics broken down by age, race and sex.
  • United States Bureau of the Census
    This is the home page of the federal agency responsible for the census. Has information about the demographic and economic censuses and news about the 2010 census. Also has the population clock for the United States and for the world.
  • United States Historical Census Browser
    Find information for the federal censuses of population from 1790 to 1960. Searching can be done by selection various categories.
  • Vital Statistics of New York State
    An annual compilation of statistics on population, live births, fetal deaths, abortions, pregnancies, deaths, marriages and divorces throughout New York state.
