The Connetquot Public Library has no control over the Internet and its resources and assumes no responsibility for the quality, accuracy and timeliness of the information. The listing of an Internet site on our web page does not imply endorsement of that site. Some Internet sites may contain material that is not appropriate for children. Therefore, parents are advised that they must assume responsibility for their children’s use of this service.

Patrons using the Internet computers at the Connetquot Public Library must assume all risks including, but not limited to, the following:

  • The sending and receiving of E-mail messages.

  • Loss of privacy resulting from the sending and receiving of personal information.

  • Any loss resulting from Internet service interruptions and outages.

Additional Guidelines:

  • Internet access is available for one hour providing computers are available. If no one is waiting patrons may stay on longer.

  • Priority is given to Connetquot cardholders; therefore non-residents may be asked to surrender the computer station should a district resident need it.

  • All users must end their Internet sessions and leave the workstation when asked to do so by Library Personnel.

  • Adults not accompanied by children are required to use the Adult Internet Computers.

  • Children under 18 are required to use the Children’s/Teen Internet Computers:

    • These computers are limited to two hours of use per child per day.

  • Patrons may not use Library equipment to access illegal materials or for any illegal or fraudulent activities.

  • No more than two people may sit at any computer workstation.

  • Users must not connect their own computer equipment or accessories to the library's computers.

  • Patrons may save files to their own floppy disks, flash drives or CD-RW's.
