How Do I...?

Get Free Internet Training

Are you interested in learning how to navigate the World Wide Web or send email?  If so, the Connetquot Public Library offers free, one-on-one Internet Instruction by appointment for all district residents.  The thirty minute training sessions are intended for beginners with little or no computer experience, and apply only to your library’s Internet service.  An experienced staff member will teach you how to:

  • Use Microsoft Internet Explorer – A World Wide Web browser
  • Send and retrieve email using Yahoo!
  • Browse the Internet using search engines, such as Google
  • Make the most your library’s Internet Homepage

The Connetquot Public Library’s Internet Homepage is constantly being updated to make your Internet searching easier.  It has hundreds of links to websites containing information on maps and directions for traveling, new and used car prices, relocation information, and more.  Links are arranged alphabetically or by subject.

Additionally, your library holds Computer Forums once a month where all district residents are welcome to attend.  No computer experience is necessary.  You may ask questions, exchange ideas or just chat about computer topics.  There is a “feature of the month” which will demonstrate computer software programs or products.  No registration required.  Please refer to your Connetquot Public Library Quarterly Newsletter or here for dates and times.

Please call the library at 631-567-5079 during regular operating hours to schedule your Internet Training appointment.
