Find DVDs and Videos in the Catalog using iBistro
iBistro is the library’s online catalog. It includes all the materials the library owns and allows you to search for these items in many ways. You can search for videos and DVDs by title, actor, subject, director, or even film studio.
Quick Search
1. If you are searching for:
- Titles: Type the names of the film (ie. Gone with the Wind) in the search box and click
- Actors or Directors: Type the name of the person (ie. Tom Hanks or Alfred Hitchcock) in the search box and click
- Film Studios: Type the names of the studio (ie. Paramount) in the search box and click
- Subjects: Type the subject of the film or documentary (ie. Yoga) in the search box and click
2. A list of records will appear. Look through the records to locate those with a call number beginning with VHS or DVD
3. To find out if a film is in the library, click ![]()
Advanced Search
Advanced Search will enable you to search for the videos or DVDs only, instead of search through many records.
Click Advanced Search on the main iBistro screen.
1. If you are searching for:
- Titles: Type the names of the film (ie. Sound of Music) in the box next to Titles
- Actors or Directors: Type the name of the person (ie. Katharine Hepburn or Steven Spielberg) in the box next to Author.
- Film Studios: Type the names of the studio (ie. Disney or Miramax) in the box next to Author.
- Subjects: Type the subject of the film or documentary (ie. ballroom dancing) in the box next to Subject.

3. To limit to videocassette:
- Click the down arrow next to the box labeled Type.
- In the Type box, select Video-FIC or Video-NF
To limit to DVD:
- Click the down arrow next to the box labeled Type.
- In the Type box, select DVD or DVD-NF
4. Click ![]()
5. You will see a list of the films that matched the words you search for. Films are the only item in your search results. They begin with a call number of VHS or DVD.
