Journey to Storytime
To promote the love of reading to children in a fun way, these workshops were developed to build children's confidence and early literacy skills - from baby, to toddler, to preschooler. Each program's activities are important learning enhancements which create an interaction between parent and child. This interaction helps children build comprehension skills which readies them for the experience and enjoyment of Storytime
Baby's Great Beginnings
Begin your Journey to Storytime! Designed for our tiniest patrons, we introduce you and your baby to an interactive and stimulating workshop. This program is the first of a five multi-session program series created especially for you and your child to follow until they are ready for Storytime.
Baby Play and Grow
The second in our Journey to Storytime series, this fun workshop focuses on activities designed to enhance your baby’s development using games, movement and music. Fingerplays and nursery rhymes are also included to build baby’s receptive and language skills
Come and check out one of the biggest playrooms you’ll ever see! Not only is this workshop fun for the kids, but it’s an excellent resource for parents. Each week a professional from different areas of parenting expertise will circulate answering any questions you may have. This is also the third workshop in the Journey to Storytime series.
Here’s the fourth workshop in our Journey to Storytime series—it’s Toddler Time with a craft table. Mingle with other parents while your children play and interact. Then take the opportunity to gain valuable information from our resource people in their area of expertise. Each session ends with Circle Time during which children sing familiar songs.
Join your child in the last step of their Journey to Storytime series. As a structured program, every week there will be a different theme of stories, crafts, songs and more. The next step is Storytime!
Introduce your child to some great stories while having fun during this five-week session. A parent/adult caregiver must attend the 3 to 4 year old, 45 minute sessions. The 4 to 5 year old sessions are 30 minutes long and are without a parent/adult caregiver. The child must reach the minimum age required by the date of the first scheduled class in their session.
