The Dollar-A-Day Boys: Film and Discussion

The Civilian Conservation Corps was a public work relief program created to employ young, unmarried men during the Great Depression. The successful program proved to be the adventure of a lifetime for many of the young men who participated. Anthony DiFranco directed this film that was inspired by the letters his father wrote home to his intended (later Anthony's mother) during the time of his service at the CCC. It covers both his father's personal experience and the oral history he gathered by attending reunions of CCC veterans around the country.
