Book Discussion: Rebecca by Daphne Du Maurier

Open to district residents only.  Limit of 15 people.

A gothic classic and chilling Hitchcock movie, Rebecca has thrilled readers for almost 75 years. Through flashbacks, the nameless heroine relates her story of being the eager-to-please bride of Maxim de Winter, whose daunting estate Manderley rests on the windswept Cornish coast.  As our heroine gets to know her new husband, she is also drawn into the story of the first Mrs. de Winter (Rebecca), who may be dead but is certainly not forgotten.  Secrets proliferate as the young bride searches for the real fate of Rebecca and the role her husband played in his first wife's death.  Sign-up begins Monday, September 10 at the adult reference desk.  You will receive a copy of the book and discussion questions at that time.
