Bing Crosby, the Voice America Loved: Part I, 1903 – 1946

This multi-media program created by Jack Schnur will focus on one of America's most popular singers, Bing Crosby. Bing was the most popular entertainer of the 30s and 40s with the number one radio show, and he was also a top box office star in many films.

Mr. Schnur, former videotape editor at CBS, will show you clips from many Crosby films, including Holiday Inn, in which he introduced the song "White Christmas."

There will be a follow-up program covering the rest of Bing's memorable career.  Please see entry under November 15.
